Terms of use
These terms describe how to use the site maru.expert and the member area at my.maru.expert: how accounts work, what you may and may not do with the course materials, how homework review works and when access can be closed.
The terms of purchase, payment and instalments are in the public offer, the refund procedure is in the refund policy, and personal data is covered by the privacy policy.
By using the site you accept these terms.
Your account
Access to the courses requires an account with an email address and a password. The account is personal and belongs to one person.
You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account. If someone else has used your access, change the password and write to support@maru.expert.
Please give a real email address: payment confirmations, sign-in links, notices about newly opened lessons and replies from your tutor are all sent there.
Course materials
The video lessons, recipes, notes, texts and photographs are protected intellectual property belonging to the school or lawfully used by it. Paying for a course gives you the right to learn from the materials, but does not transfer any rights in the materials themselves.
What you may do:
— watch the lessons personally, as many times as you like, for the duration of your access;
— download the notes and recipes and use them in the kitchen;
— cook from the recipes for yourself, for family and for sale — as a pastry chef you are free to sell what you have made.
What you may not do:
— share your login details with anyone;
— record the screen, download the videos, forward lesson files;
— publish course materials in whole or in part anywhere;
— use the materials in your own teaching: resell them, include them in your own courses, show them to a class;
— present the school's recipes and techniques as your own teaching materials.
Homework and feedback
On courses with homework review, the tutor comments on submitted work within the timeframe stated on the course page. A review is a professional opinion, not a guarantee of results: the outcome depends on your ingredients, equipment and practice.
By submitting your work you allow the school to use it anonymously for teaching — for example, to show a common mistake to other students. Publication with your name attached happens only with your separate consent.
Reviews
A review left in the member area may be published by the school on the site together with your name as it appears in your account. Publication is not guaranteed: the school decides which reviews to show. If you change your mind, write to support@maru.expert and the review will be removed.
When access can be closed
The school may block an account without a refund if:
— the access is used by several people at once or the login has been shared;
— materials are being recorded, copied or distributed;
— communication with the tutor or support goes beyond respectful;
— knowingly false details were given at checkout.
With instalments, access is suspended under the rules described on the instalments page: that is a pause until the payment is made, not a block for misconduct.
Before blocking we try to get in touch and sort it out: most often it is a misunderstanding.
Availability of the service
The school keeps the site and the member area running but does not guarantee that there will be no interruptions at all. Short maintenance windows are possible, as are failures at the video hosting, the payment systems and the messengers, for which the school is not responsible.
If a failure on our side kept access closed for a noticeable time, write to us: your access will be extended by the length of the outage.
The materials are informational. Responsibility for food safety rules and for the quality and safety of anything made from the school's recipes lies with the person making it.
Changes to these terms
The school may change these terms by publishing a new version on this page. By continuing to use the site after publication you accept the changes.
Governing law and disputes
The relationship between the parties is governed by the law of the Republic of Poland. Disputes are settled in correspondence first: a claim is sent to support@maru.expert and answered within 30 calendar days.
How to reach us
For anything about access, the materials or the site, write to support@maru.expert or use the messengers on the contacts page.
